Topaz is the gemstone for November and she makes a clear, stylish statement as a display piece in the rich traditions of Royal Doulton figurines with a contemporary twist. Her lithe frame is set off by a pale yellow strapless evening dress which hugs the figure at the top, then sweeps out from the slender waistline to touch the floor. Calm and confident in repose, this rosy-cheeked beauty with shoulder length hair wears a topaz crystal for lasting effect. The magic and romance of topaz goes back many thousands of years. It holds the distinction of being the gemstone with the widest range of curative powers. The Greeks felt it gave them strength. In addition, it supposedly cooled tempers, restored sanity, cured asthma, relieved insomnia and even warded off sudden death. Topaz is also said to make its wearer invisible in time of emergency
