Royal Worcester Royal Worcester Palissy Fruit Bud Vase Royal Worcester Palissy Fruit Bud Vase
Palissy Fruit Bud Vase
The Palissy Pottery Ltd produced good quality domestic tableware, giftware and fancy earthenware. From 1958 under the influence of Royal Worcester designers, the Pottery produced high quality, attractively decorated earthenware that is probably under-appreciated today. Palissy’s ‘Game Birds’ series bears a remarkable resemblance to the Spode originals and some of the tea and coffee ware produced in the 1970s rank with those of Portmeirion and Hornsea as iconic designs of the period.

In 1958 Palissy Pottery Ltd. was bought by the Worcester Royal Porcelain Company. Various markings were used, but the words were not included in the factory mark until 1976 when Royal Worcester, Spode and Palissy came under common ownership. Manufacturing extremely high quality wares, Royal Worcester quickly became synonymous with high end porcelain pieces and successfully produced prestigious items for the upper classesThroughout its rich history Royal Worcester has had strong associations with art and artists. Often an artist would be employed to decorate the prestigious items Royal Worcester had created. Today the stunning Painted Fruit collection is hand painted by an artist and etched with gold
