WILLIAM BLIGH (1754-1817)
was an English naval captain and a colonial governer of New South Wales, Australia. Probably best known for his involvement in the mutiny on H.M.S BOUNTY. He was a fine but brutal sailor, a cornish man well known on the isle of man, who in 1781, at Kk. Onchan married Eliazabeth Bethan, daughter of a British Customs officer stationed in Douglas.
